Solution:

1) The recommended solution is to re-install the TSM Client, especially if there are other issues about an incomplete upgrade:
1a) Halt all running TSM services and programs on the system.
1b) Un-install the TSM client (the TSM option files remain untouched).
1c) Reboot the system to cleanup the Registry/ODM and drivers.
1d) Re-install the TSM Client using a current download package from the TSM support pages.

For example, if you plan to use the TSM Client/Windows Logical Volume Snapshot Agent (LVSA), which is a pre-requisite for Open File Support (OFS) and Image backup, the TSM Client README file states that a complete un-install and re-install must done when upgrading the TSM Client.

2) If the problem is suspected to only relate to the messages being incorrect, then verify the version of the TSM client using the SHOW VERSION command. Stop the TSM client services, then download, extract, and manually copy the file dscenu.txt from the TSM installation package temporary directory over to the current TSM install directory.
For example, a Windows TSM client installation package would extract to the temporary path C:\TSM_Images\TSM_BA_Client folder. Copy the file dscenu.txt from the temporary path C:\TSM_Images\TSM_BA_Client\program files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient and place it in the currently installed path (C:\program files\Tivoli\TSM\Baclient by default). Restart the TSM client programs/services as needed.
